In a boat reminiscent of a pepto bismol advert, five intrepid ARC rowers gathered with 2000 other boats by St. Mark’s square in Venice, awaiting the cannon shot to start the Vogalonga: a 30k ‘race’ around the islands of Merano and Burano ending in the beautiful Grand Canal. This year was the 50th anniversary of the event, which celebrates non-motorised transport of all types, and the crew bravely battled the dragon boats, canoes, stand-up paddleboards and marauding gondolas in a brilliant adventure. 

A fantastic long weekend, new medals earned, sore backsides for all, but most importantly friendship's made and consolidated!
